About Mesoamerica Institute
History
We have been teaching Spanish and Portuguese in the Bay Area
since 1988,
and have only
the most experienced native speakers as instructors.
We offer a wide
variety of programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of
individuals who want to learn Spanish and Latin-American
culture, for traveling, business, relocation and other work or
personal purposes.
Learning Spanish as a foreign language
happens much in the same way as learning your native
language--by experiencing it! At the MESOAMERICA INSTITUTE, our
approach is highly effective because we provide an environment
that allows students to overcome their hesitations about
speaking Spanish, learn at their own pace and enjoy the process
at the same time.
Our Instructors are native-born speaker of
Spanishwho
teach language in a natural way. All of us were trained to teach
Spanish as a second language, using our
New Approach to the Spanish Language.
Instructors background on socio-cultural,
historical, artistic and general social knowledge was strongly
considered in selecting them as our staff.
Our
founder and director, Arturo Sosa has 20 years of experienced
teaching Spanish. In addition to establishing several language
institutes in México, Mr. Sosa has taught extensively in the
United States at Schools, Universities, private and public
institutions. Among them: The University of La Verne (Los
Angeles), San Mateo County Department of Education, Park Day
School (Oakland), Levi´s Strauss, Environmental Protection
